Canary Islands Geography
The Canary Islands are made up of seven larger islands, which are Fuerteventura, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote, La Palma, Tenerife, Hierro, Gomera and a handful of smaller ones. Even though each island has a constant temperature all year round and it's own fantastic fine sandy beach, there landscape is completely different. The islands take over a whole 7.5 square km, which is just 1.5% of Spain. It has a population of approx 1.9 million and the official language of these islands is Spanish. All these islands are of volcanic origin in the Atlantic Ocean and are situated just off the North Western coast of Africa.
Canary Islands History
Nomadic travellers have dreamt of these Canary Islands since ancient times. Some of the names they received during this times was known as Islas Afortunadas and Cumbres de la Atla
