Australian History
Indigenous Australians have inhabited mainland Australia for 42,000 - 48,000 years; they arrived via land bridges and short sea crossings from Southeast Asia. In 1770 the British who officially settled through penal transportation claimed the eastern half of the mainland and the colony was known as New South Wales. As new areas was explored and the population increased another 5 colonies was established during the 19th Century. These colonies then became a federation, which formed the commonwealth of Australia.

Car Hire Australia allows you to experience the fantastic views of the Australian coastline and you can even venture into the countryside. If you are planning a trip to Kakadu National Park why not stay over at one of the campsites near by before you begin your journey to further attractions.
